First Highborn Preview!

We send out a press preview version the other day and the first preview is up over at Touch Arcade! They have some screenshots and a little video showing off the first level. Best part, they loved my writing!
The rich world created by Jet Set Games doesn't stop at the visuals though, as each character we encountered in our brief time with the game were larger-than-life and very self-aware. We appreciated the (often very funny) well-written banter between characters and the many instances where dialogue segues right through the fourth wall. It's been a long time since a game made us laugh, but Highborn promises to do just that.
They like me! They really do like me!!! Check out the preview for yourself and watch the video.

Just commenting to let you know there are still people following your Blog. We haven't all abandoned you :)

Also I watched Watchmen the other day. Bloody awesome movie. I really, really enjoyed it.

Thanks guys. I know I haven't been posting as much, but since pretty much the only thing I've been doing (seriously) is working on this game, I didn't really have much to talk about.

I have a stack of games that I've bought and have hardly played, hell I think I have a couple that I never even installed or popped into the PS3 or XBox360.

R.B. Was thinking about you last night as I tried to download Avast after reformatting my computer. I think the link was offline at CNET because they were putting up a new version. It worked this morning.

Cap'n John Have you read the graphic novel? If not, you really owe it to yourself to do so.

I haven't read the graphic novel but if it's anything like the movie (only better) I'm sure I would like it. I might have to keep an eye out for it.

This looks really good - I haven't bothered to buy any games for my iPhone but I'll put this on my list to be first.

I started reading Watchmen a few weeks ago and plan on seeing watching the movie sometime in June (when the wife is out of town). I'm really liking it, but I don't know if I'm getting the same level of awesome out of it as those who read graphic novels.

As for highborn, a few weeks ago I went looking for it in the app store, having completely forgotten it wasn't released yet. So far it sounds like my sort of game though.

My friend Sarah just finished the graphic novel after seeing the movie first and she thinks she got much more out of it having seen the movie.

When I read it originally, I went to the comic book store for the first time in years and got back into collecting. They guys there forced me to take issues 1-11 as the 12th one wasn't out yet. I read them straight through, thought it was okay, but nothing overly great. It wasn't until my second read thru when it came out as one of the first trades, that I realized how much I had missed and how awesome it was. There is just much there, from the subtle foreshadowing to the hidden smiley faces, amazing well put together work.

Oh, read the text chunks between each issue. It isn't really important to the story, but it does help round everything out.

That's kind of what I mean about me probably not getting as much as you probably do. I think artists (and those who appreciate art work) get something at a whole new level out of comics or video games, or anything with an art aspect, than I do. I see the smiley faces and stuff, but it just doesn't resonate anything inside. My brother claims I'm dead inside anyway, so maybe that's my problem.
